Yachay - Celebrating Latino Minds is an innovative event taking place at ​Alley Theatre on Saturday, September 21st, 2024. This celebration focuses ​on the intellectual and technological contributions of Latinos, blending ​educational content with engaging, late-night TV show-style entertainment.

“YACHAY”

meaning

In Quechua, a language spoken by the indigenous peoples of the Andes ​Mountain Regions, "Yachay" means knowledge, wisdom, or learning.

ROLE IN COMMUNITY

"Yachay" is often seen as a communal activity, where elders pass down their knowledge to ​the younger generation through oral traditions, apprenticeship, and participatory learning.

SOCIETAL CHANGE

The term "Yachay" has come to symbolize broader societal transformation. It ​reflects the desire to shift from traditional, resource-based economies to ones that ​are driven by education, innovation, and sustainable development.
