“YACHAY”
meaning
In Quechua, a language spoken by the indigenous peoples of the Andes Mountain Regions, "Yachay" means knowledge, wisdom, or learning.
ROLE IN COMMUNITY
"Yachay" is often seen as a communal activity, where elders pass down their knowledge to the younger generation through oral traditions, apprenticeship, and participatory learning.
SOCIETAL CHANGE
The term "Yachay" has come to symbolize broader societal transformation. It reflects the desire to shift from traditional, resource-based economies to ones that are driven by education, innovation, and sustainable development.
